Call to Action: Contact Your County and City Officials Today to Stop Them from Considering Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Ordinances!

From the NC Values Coalition:

Because North Carolina’s law protecting our freedoms to live out our religious faith, speak freely our religious beliefs, and associate with people who share our values (HB2 and HB142) expired on December 1 and the state legislature failed to enact a permanent solution, LGBTQ+ activist groups have launched a campaign to pressure local governments across the state into considering local sexual orientation and gender identity ("SOGI") ordinances that undermine religious liberty.

Thus far, they have targeted 24 cities and 5 counties across NC (5 of which passed a SOGI in cities and 1 in a county). In addition to expected progressive cities like Asheville and Chapel Hill, they have also targeted places like Black Mountain, Hendersonville, and Weaverville.

Originally, their strategy was to have the passage of SOGI ordinances snowball a surge of support across the rest of the state. However, their momentum has largely slowed, due in large part to the growing response of concerned citizens like you.

We believe the best way to stop these ordinances is for your local officials to HEAR FROM YOU FIRST!

If you agree that our elected officials should hear from us first, would you help us gain the initiative by choosing your city or county from the 46 targets below and encouraging your local officials to vote against any anti-religious freedom SOGI ordinances?

By expressing your concern for religious freedom, freedom of speech, and freedom of association now, you can take charge to stop these dangerous ordinances before they even get started.  Click here for further information:  https://www.ncvalues.org/sogi?utm_campaign=20210309_sogi&utm_medium=email&utm_source=ncvalues.  Or go to the NC Values Coalition website.
