Evidence suggests Dr. Fauci has known the truth for quite some time and has failed to tell us about the beginnings of COVID-19 in the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) laboratory, as well as other scientific research that one day might kill us all.  There are some who say that “if we want to preserve our existence on the planet, our government must stop funding this line (gain-of-function) of research.” 

Has Dr. Fauci, Director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), been lying to us about the origins of COVID-19?  First, he opines that “...this virus originated in nature and jumped species.”  Telling the National Geographic in May 2020 –

"If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats and what’s out there now, [the scientific evidence] is very, very strongly leaning toward this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated.  Everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that [this virus] evolved in nature and then jumped species."

But recently, Dr. Fauci stated that “he is [no longer] convinced of that.”  (See Alice Fuller, The U.S. Sun, May 23, 2021.)

What do you know about “gain-of-function” research?  Did you at least know that Dr. Fauci is a big proponent of this type of research?  Did you know that this type of research is a most dangerous type of research because of its lethality?  Not sure many of us outside the virology research community knows the answers to these questions.

“Gain-of-function” research is biological research aimed at increasing the virulence and lethality of pathogens and viruses.”  What this means is that scientists intentionally create or produce an airborne pathogen or virus that is or can be deadly and then infect different species to see the results.  Gain of function research takes animal viruses from bats, birds, and other non-human virus carriers, and then genetically modifies them to alter their mode of functioning, enabling them to become infectious in other animal species, even in humans.  (See LifeSite News, June 2020.)  Gain of function is a field of research focused on growing generations of microorganisms, under conditions that cause mutations in a virus.  These experiments are termed ‘gain of function’ because they involve manipulating pathogens in a way that they “gain an advantage in or through a function, such as increased transmissibility.”  (The Print, May 22, 2021.) 

Medical researchers have repeatedly expressed alarm regarding such experiments, arguing that they could inadvertently cause new pandemics.  The argument for this type of research is that these experiments allow scientists to better predict emerging infectious diseases, and to develop vaccines and therapeutics.  Yes, except that these deadly science-enhanced pathogens can, and do escape into the community where they infect and kill people.

Is this what happened in the WIV lab?  Some evidence says “yes,” but the World Health Organization says “no way.”  But see this -  

1. In 1992, Meryl Nass, MD, analyzed the characteristics of an anthrax epidemic in Zimbabwe, Rhodesia in 1978-1980, that was claimed to be a natural occurrence. Dr. Nass demonstrated that the pattern of the epidemic, the spread, and weather conditions, could not have occurred due to a natural event; it must, therefore, have been triggered as a bioweapon. She reported her findings in the journal Physicians for Social Responsibility Quarterly, 1992.
2. In 2011, controversy erupted when two separate teams of researchers – one headed by Ron Fouchier from the Netherlands, another headed by Yoshihiro Kawaoka from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Tokyo – announced that they had modified the H5N1 avian flu virus so that it jumped from birds to mammals and between mammals. They used reverse genetics to build a more lethal virus by combining directed mutations and natural selection, suggesting that this H5N1 variant could be efficiently transmitted between humans.
3. Scientists at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, who sought to discover how likely it is that the “bird flu” virus, designated A(H5N1), might mutate from a form that seldom infects or spreads among humans into a form highly transmissible by coughing or sneezing. Thus far the virus has infected close to 600 humans and killed more than half of them, a fatality rate that far exceeds the 2 percent rate in the 1918 influenza pandemic that killed as many as 100 million people.
4. A report by GM Watch (May 20th) focuses on the hazardous bat and coronavirus experiments at the Wuhan laboratory. Dr. Richard Ebright alerted the public about evidence that the Wuhan Institute and US-based researchers were genetically engineering bat viruses to investigate their ability to infect humans. He stated that they experimented with commonly used methods that leave no sign or signature of human manipulation. He cited a scientific paper published in PLoS (2017) by Wuhan scientists, including Shi Zhengli, the virologist leading the research into bat coronaviruses. The researchers report having conducted virus infectivity experiments where genetic material is combined from different varieties of SARS-related coronaviruses to form novel “chimeric” versions. This formed part of their research into what mutations were needed to allow certain bat coronaviruses to bind to the human ACE2 receptor – a key step in the human infectivity of SARS-CoV-2.”

Dr. Fauci and NIH have been in the forefront in supporting high risk pathogen experiments.  On December 30, 2011, Dr. Fauci wrote that the “benefits of such experiments and the resulting knowledge outweigh the risks”.  (See, The Washington Post, May 22, 2021.)

"[D]etermining the molecular Achilles' heel of these viruses can allow scientists to identify novel antiviral drug targets that could be used to prevent infection in those at risk or to better treat those who become infected," wrote Fauci …. Decades of experience tells us that disseminating information gained through biomedical research to legitimate scientists and health officials provides a critical foundation for generating appropriate countermeasures and, ultimately, protecting the public health."

Did I read this correctly? 

1. First, scientists create a virus that is transmittable to humans that did not or could not exist in nature? 
2. Second, this man-made virus intentionally or accidently infects people and, possibly, kills hundreds, thousands, millions of them? 
3. Third, the deaths create opportunities for new drugs/medications/treatments to be developed to protect people from a virus that would never have existed except for these scientists?
4. Fourth, this is cutting-edge science, and the risk of a few dead bodies are worth are the information and knowledge we gain from their deaths!     

What bulls**t is this?  What hubris!  We have been lied to by the one man who knew better!  We have come from the first December 2019 reporting from health officials that there are dozens of people in Wuhan, China being treated for pneumonia from an unknown source after visiting a live animal (wet) market to where we are now with some confirmation that the virus was created in a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

3.5 million people globally died from COVID-19.  Given than Dr. Fauci was possibly notified in 2018 by U.S. Embassy officials in China, about lax biosecurity at the Wuhan lab led by “bat woman” Shi Zhengli, (Jerry Dunleavy, Washington Examiner, May 7, 2021), and was allegedly informed in early 2019 of scientists infected with COVID-19 at the WIV, what kind of God-like mad scientist is Dr. Fauci  that he and his colleagues not only think this way, but did not alert the Trump Administration or the public of the possibility of infectious transmissions back then?  Who the hell are these people?

Gain-of function research funding was stopped under the Obama Administration but started up again under the Trump Administration.  In 2019, the National Institutes of Health gave the Wuhan Institute of Virology $3.7 million to continue gain-of-function research.  Although Dr. Fauci is now calling for an investigation into what happened in China to find out the truth, how likely is it that he doesn’t already know?

It should be evident to everyone, that as long as irresponsible government officials continue to fund and promote experiments whose aim is to increase the virulence and lethal capacity of biological pathogens and viruses, the risk that those lethal pathogens can, have, and will escape from laboratories, is certain.  These gain-of-function research scientists will kill us all! 

(As a final word, please note that Senator Paul Rand’s amendment to Senate bill S.1260 – the Endless Frontier Act – was passed by the Senate on May 25, 2021.  This amendment prohibits the National Institutes of Health and any other federal agency from funding gain-of-function research in China. )
