We have all become aware of the lingering issues of our recently deployed veterans. A local organization is doing something about it. Come learn about Heal Our Heroes from its President, Bob Uber.
Bob Uber is a Vietnam Combat Officer and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor.
After leaving the military, he became a broker for Insurance and Investment products. 10 years later he bought the Agency. During that time they had 3 son - Brian, who lives in High Pt, Matt who is on active duty with the Special Forces and just returned from a deployment in Syria. Their 3rd son Michael, who was age 7, was run over and killed by a car.
At age 50 he sold his business and began working with active duty military, traveling internationally doing Marriage and Combat Trauma Conferences.4 yrs. ago he became the Founder and President of Heal Our Heroes, a nonprofit that supports Veterans in the Triad
What you don’t know about Bob, is that he is the primary home caregiver for his wife Sam, who has advanced Alzheimer’s.
Heal Our Heroes seeks to achieve our vision by serving, supporting and strengthening military warriors, families, leaders, chaplains and caregivers, and wounded warriors through offering training, services and resources which promote resiliency and relational health throughout the deployment cycle. These services include retreats, counseling professionals and print and media resources.
